Baked Turkey Meatballs

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg , beaten
  • 1/4 cup mil k
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with olive oil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg and milk together.
  3. Add the breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper to the bowl; stir to combine into a paste.
  4. Add the ground turkey to the mixture and gently fold by hand until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  5. Scoop approximately 2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll between palms to form 1.5-inch meatballs.
  6. Arrange the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, spaced 1 inch apart.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the exteriors are lightly browned.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
