Classic Broccoli Salad

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups fresh broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup roasted sunflower seeds
  • 8 slices bacon , cooked until crisp and crumbled
  • 1 cup mayonnais e
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine the broccoli florets, diced red onion, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, and bacon bits.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, and pepper until the sugar has dissolved and the dressing is smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss until all components are thoroughly coated.
  4. Refrigerate the salad for a minimum of 60 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
  5. Toss once more immediately before serving.
