Classic Smoked Salmon Bagel

Ingredients
  

  • 1 fresh plain or everything bagel
  • 2 tablespoons plain cream cheese
  • 3 ounces cold -smoked salmon slices
  • 4 thin slices red onion
  • 1 teaspoon non -pareil capers, drained
  • 1 sprig fresh dill, roughly chopped
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 wedge lemo n

Method
 

  1. Slice the bagel horizontally into two halves using a serrated knife.
  2. Place the bagel halves in a toaster or under a broiler for 1 to 2 minutes until the cut surfaces are golden brown and crisp.
  3. Spread 1 tablespoon of plain cream cheese evenly across the toasted surface of each bagel half.
  4. Layer the smoked salmon slices over the cream cheese on both halves, ensuring even coverage.
  5. Distribute the red onion slices and capers over the salmon.
  6. Garnish with fresh dill and cracked black pepper.
  7. Serve immediately with a lemon wedge to be squeezed over the salmon if desired.
