Easy Black Bean Dip

Ingredients
  

  • 30 ounces canned black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, stems removed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons wate r

Method
 

  1. Place the rinsed black beans, cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, salt, and chili powder into the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Pulse the mixture 5 to 10 times to break down the beans.
  3. Process on high for 1 minute until the texture is smooth and uniform.
  4. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time while the processor is running if a thinner consistency is required.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with additional cilantro.
  6. Serve immediately at room temperature or refrigerate in an airtight container.
