Easy Lasagna with Cottage Cheese

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 large egg , lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 12 no -boil lasagna noodles
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir marinara sauce into the browned beef and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine cottage cheese, beaten egg, parmesan cheese, and dried oregano until well blended.
  5. Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  6. Place a layer of 3 noodles over the sauce, followed by 1/3 of the cottage cheese mixture, 1 cup of meat sauce, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers (noodles, cottage cheese, sauce, mozzarella) two more times.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let the lasagna rest for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
