Method
- In a medium saucepan, combine fresh cranberries, maple syrup, and orange juice.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until most cranberries have burst.
- Stir in the orange zest and cinnamon stick.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool completely at room temperature; the sauce will thicken as it cools.
- Discard the cinnamon stick before serving.
