Korean Ground Beef Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 green onions , thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until no longer pink.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the beef and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and ginger in a small bowl.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and stir to combine.
  6. Simmer the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
  7. Divide the cooked rice into four bowls.
  8. Top each bowl with the beef mixture.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
