Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 standard beef hot dogs
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or cooking spray

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius) and lightly grease a large baking sheet with vegetable oil or cooking spray.
  2. Unroll the refrigerated crescent dough and press the diagonal perforations together to create a single flat sheet.
  3. Slice the dough into narrow strips, approximately 1/4 inch wide, using a knife or pizza cutter.
  4. Wrap several strips of dough around each hot dog in a staggered, bandages-like fashion, leaving a small gap near the top of the hot dog for the mummy's face.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet with the dough ends facing down.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the dough strips are golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 2 minutes before using a toothpick to apply two small dots of mustard in the face gap to create eyes.
