Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 green onions , thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Method
 

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef.
  2. Cook the beef until browned and crumbled, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  3. Drain the excess grease from the pan.
  4. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the beef and sauté for 1 minute until aromatic.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  6. Pour the sauce over the beef mixture and stir to combine.
  7. Simmer the beef in the sauce for 2-3 minutes until the liquid reduces and coats the meat.
  8. Distribute the cooked rice into four bowls and top with the beef mixture.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
