Quick Baked Fish with Bread Crumbs and Herbs

Ingredients
  

  • 4 white fish fillets (approx. 6 oz each) such as cod, tilapia, or haddock
  • 0.5 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 lemon , cut into wedges

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small mixing bowl, combine the Panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, parsley, oregano, and garlic powder until evenly moistened.
  5. Evenly distribute and press the breadcrumb mixture onto the top surface of each fish fillet.
  6. Bake in the center of the oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and the crumbs are golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
